Just remembered that Satan in the "A World of Our Very Own" devilgram says that he believes he was "born in order to meet MC" and it always sounded incredibly cheesy to me but then I thought about it a little more and--

Originally, Satan was just a small glimmer inside Lucifer's consciousness until Lucifer's wrath reached its peak with Lilith's death which, in turn, resulted in Satan's birth

MC is a direct descendant of Lilith after she was reborn as human

If it weren't for Lilith's death, neither of them would be here

Both of their existences are directly intertwined with one another, so in a way Satan's right

They have always been destined to be a part of each other's lives

biggest reason i want eve to be the one that holds alastor's leash along with other things :D she be a creepy bitch and would enjoy having powerful overlords under her control. she would call him 'bambi' affectionately :D excuse the awful sketch phase i have a vision-

Adam was an abusive asshat to Lilith. Lilith chose to be with the one who actually respected her and didn't demand she be solely his submissive hanger-on.

"From the dust of Earth, [the angels] created Adam and Lilith. Equals as the first of mankind, but despite this, Adam demanded control, and Lilith refused to submit to his will. She fled the Garden."

"Drawn in by her fierce independence, Lucifer found her and the two rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love."

2. Lucifer didn't "take" Eve. He offered her the forbidden fruit and she accepted.

"Together, [Lilith and Lucifer] wished to share the magic of free will with humanity, offering the Fruit of Knowledge to Adam's new bride, Eve, who gladly accepted."

We don't know what happened after aside from the fact that apparently because Eve took the fruit "evil" was let in to the world the angels created. Since humanity still, y'know, exists, we can gather that Eve stayed with Adam and they had kids like in the original myth.

3. It really says a lot that this wording denies Eve and Lilith any actual agency in what happened in favor of pushing all the blame and responsibility on Lucifer and making Adam out to be a poor uwu misunderstood baby. The misogyny is strong in this one.

Anyway, have a silly doodle page of a scenario we keep bouncing around in which Lilith is like- ultra sadistic and keeps hurting Alastor when he goes to give her updates on the hotel. There's a bit of stuff to the soul contract stuff we've added but this is all for fun. The two on the left are my favorite-

the fact that luz and hunter paralleled phillip and caleb was meant to show that the wittebane's story didn't have to end in tragedy. it was similar to how the clawthorne sisters also paralleled the wittebanes. one sibling curses the other or takes her prisoner or leaves him in the human world by himself. the other sibling is infuriated to be put in this situation.

phillip, having been left behind by caleb, eventually tries to "save" his brother from the witches. caleb tries to fix his mistake by introducing phillip to his new family in the boiling isles and reassures his brother that he still loves him. and phillip still ends up killing him.

eda shows that it didn't have to end that way. after decades of estrangement from her sister, eda rages when she finds out that lilith cursed her. when she's about to be executed, eda tries to kill her sister in revenge. but when king tells her what happened, eda looks past the years of hardship and her sister's betrayal and shields her sister with her own body. when they escape their execution, lilith tries to fix her mistake by sharing eda's curse. and from their bond as siblings formed in childhood, the sisters are able to reconcile.

luz and hunter are a little different in that their story happens in reverse. these two first meet with hunter threatening luz and her loved ones. their second meeting, as well as hunter's subsequent meetings with luz's friends, always involve hunter getting luz and her friends into some kind of trouble. they should naturally be enemies. but they end up becoming close friends because luz is kind, and hunter is open-minded.

luz and hunter, as well as the clawthornes, show that phillip didn't have to address his issues with caleb by killing him. they were siblings. the past bond between the wittebane brothers should have spurred them to reconnect and fix their broken relationship. the previous bond wasn't even necessary for them to make up. all phillip needed was to be open to caleb's life decisions.

the point to all the sibling parallels isn't that "phillip is just like luz" or "caleb is just like hunter." in fact, i think that misses how belos was projecting both himself and his brother onto luz, and trying to take his frustrations with his brother out on hunter. the point to these parallels is to highlight just how much belos's murder of his brother was anything but inevitable.

there was no reason that phillip couldn't have put more thought into why caleb wanted to live in the boiling isles, and come to an understanding with him. other people were able to come to an understanding with their siblings in more dire circumstances. but the core of phillip wittebane's character is that when faced with facts that contradict his worldview, he plugs his ears and doubles down. and that's what he chose when dealing with his brother. the tragedy of the wittebane brothers didn't have to happen, but phillip chose this for himself.

I'm warming up to the idea of Alastor and Lilith being work assiociates:

they meet during Alastor's early days when he's still slaughtering Overlords and Lilith's like "he looks competent, let's make him my secretary"

it doesn't start that way, oh no, but by a combination of threats, gentleman agreements and many open mic nights they basically become friends, and yes, Alastor is pretty much Lilith's right hand man in Pride Ring

the job becomes less and less visible with years, so most Overlords don't really remember Lilith and Alastor were work buddies. Zestial does, he joined them for a work-related outing sometimes

but Lilith stops looking after her job at some point for HH Plot Reasons and they kind of stop hanging out cause there's no reason anymore

then before their 7-year absence Alastor gets in trouble and Lilith jumps on the opportunity of getting a soul deal. It's not personal, she generally likes the man, she just needs to have him on a leash, it's just more practical that way

ownership of the soul gets transferred and for some time it seems it didn't change anything about their relations, Alastor does her bidding pretty much just as before

do you know how Husk and Alastor are? Husk hates that he's on Alastor's leash but he's not... very mad about it? Like he tried to warn Alastor about Mimzy in Episode 5. I think Husk IS angry with Alastor, but... no more than he already showed? If the deal got broken, that relationship could be salvaged I think

Lilith and Alastor are not like that. Alastor seethes. He hates, HATES that he's not his own man anymore. And he doesn't feel betrayed, no sir, it's just that they had a perfectly amicable working relationship before, why change that! (he doesn't think that he had opportunities to use Lilith to his own gain and took only about half of them. Lilith took every single one cause she's smarter than that Alastor)

he's still good at his job of course

then Lilith tells him to go to Hazbin Hotel and look after Charlie. he actually kinda does, huh

during Extermination Day he gets a pretty bad death scare we know and love

if there was a chance for them talking it out before it's out now, Alastor is OVER Lilith, he's NOT dying for that woman

then Lucifer comes to live at the Hotel and Alastor is told to look after him too

the fucking NERVE.

What I want to portray is Alastor and Lilith meeting to compare notes and talk plans, and of course Lilith hears anything about shennigans at the Hotel and is like "What are you doing"

And Alastor deadpans "Your job".

Cue Alastor flying through the wall.

There is something about post-Elpis pre-Jack's ascendency jackothy that is making me soo insane‼️

Timothy is forced to take care of a guy who he had hated from the very beginning, but he has to stick by his side because... why, exactly? Because he signed a contract? Because it seems like the whole universe is after both of them? Maybe he is feeling guilty, like, this should have happened to him. His job was to take the bullets (eridian artifacts?) meant for Jack or whatever. But Jack never really seemed like he needed his protection, that’s the thing. The whole time, he was so stupidly sure of himself. He was also, frustratingly enough, kinda glorious. And maybe Tim resented how cocky he was, and he wished for something to knock him down a peg, right. But, holy shit, not like that.

The mark scares him. He hates aliens, he hates that he doesn’t understand what’s going on, he really hates the way doctors treat Jack. Everybody and their mom want to hook Jack up to some equipment and run tests. Tim doesn’t want to leave him in their hands. They all remind him of Autohn. 

And Jack. Jack hates everything and himself. He keeps thinking about what was promised to him: Hyperion, the Warrior, Pandora, and he knows that, eventually... But for now, his face hurts, and he doesn't feel very heroic. He wants to be victorious NOW he doesn't wanna be in pain! 

And he is non-stop taunted by his unscared face worn by a total stranger. He doesn't even know his name. Recently, his life has been centered around surviving many attempts at his life, and he got betrayed by a bunch of people, so excuse him if he isn’t particularly trusting. He just doesn't get why 21-C sticks around. He must have some kind of underlying motif, but Jack cannot figure it out, which annoys him. Maybe he wants to kill him, but then, what's the hold-up? He should really get on with it.

At least Tim (it does not take much prying to get him to reveal his real name) is a perfect scapegoat to blame all of this on. Lilith is who Jack is truly angry with (understatement of the century), but she is far away, and his doppelganger is right there. If he wants to play nurse, Jack is not going to make it easy on him. 

I just think it is very funny to have Tim try to help Jack all the while that dick does everything in his power to make Lawrence want to strangle him. Timothy is looking over his face, and Jack is like, “So did your mom not love you? You totally act like a guy who wasn’t loved by his mom. Just a casual observation! Don't get your panties in a bunch, jeez.. So, how's the face? Don’t tell me, don't tell me, let me guess. Still screwed up because you couldn’t do your damn job??”

He has Tim pacing around their living room, muttering to himself “I am not the sort of guy to hit an injured man I am not the sort of guy to hit an injured man I am not—”

It is about Jack being humiliated and scared and angry and taking it all out on Lawrence and Tim telling him "it's rotten work. especially to me especially if it's you. I am fucking doing it but christ alive."
